JOANNE LARSON, O.D., M.S., F.A.A.O
Dr. Joanne joined Palmer Family Eye Care in 2020. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree from SUNY College of Optometry in New York, NY. In addition, she holds a M.S. degree in Vision Science from SUNY College of Optometry and a B.A. degree in Psychology from Rutgers University in Newark, NJ. She is a member and fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, and has presented at optometric conferences across the country. Dr. Joanne is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society and Psi Chi Psychology Honor Society. She is also a member of the American Optometric Association, Pennsylvania Optometric Association, and the Lehigh Valley Optometric Society.
Dr. Joanne provides comprehensive eye examinations and diagnoses, manages, and treats medical eye conditions and diseases ranging from infant to geriatric conditions. She has experience working in an ophthalmology practice alongside a cataract surgeon and is experienced in cataract surgery co-management. She has extensive experience in family eye care, with a passion for dry eye, pediatrics, and vision therapy. Her focus is to keep your vision as clear as possible, and to keep your eyes as comfortable and healthy as possible.
Dr. Joanne has been a member of the Lion’s Club for the past 10 years, a club whose service efforts are heavily focused on helping the visually impaired. She was a member of the Cortland YWCA and has volunteered at its Annual Girls’ Day Out interactive career fair designed to engage and motivate girls in grades 4-7. She helped show girls from the community the exciting, cool things optometrists do. Dr. Joanne went on a mission trip where she helped examine, diagnose, and treat patients in Oaxaca, Mexico. Dr. Joanne has also volunteered at the Special Olympics’ Opening Eyes and screened participating athletes’ vision.
Dr. Joanne is excited to be able to continue to serve the Easton/Lehigh Valley community with their eye care.

ANDREW LARSON, O.D.
Dr. Andrew Larson joined Palmer Family Eyecare in 2021. He graduated from Lemoyne College in Syracuse in 2009, and from SUNY Optometry in 2013. He completed a 6 month externship at the Baltimore VA, a rotation heavily focused on ocular disease.
Dr. Larson has been in private practice since 2013, where he has worked in a variety of comprehensive eye care settings. He loves to give a full scope eye care experience for the entire family, and especially enjoys treating glaucoma and performing diabetic exams. Dr. Larson sees patients of all ages, from young children to the elderly. He has a working proficiency of American Sign Language. |
Dr. Larson is a member of the American Optometric Association, Pennsylvania Optometric Association, and the Lehigh Valley Optometric Society. He has also volunteered at the Special Olympics’ Opening Eyes and screened participating athletes’ vision.

Gary L. Dietterick, O.D.
Dr. Dietterick came to Easton in 1978 and started his solo practice in 1983.
In 1994, he co-founded Palmer Family Eye Care with Dr. Murray Dennis who passed away in 2004. He practiced comprehensive eye care.
Dr. Dietterick is a past officer in the Lehigh Valley Optometric Society, as well as an ongoing member in the Pennsylvania and American Optometric Associations. He is a past president and active member of the Easton Lions Club, devoting time to help the visually impaired and others.
In December 2021, Dr. Dietterick retired from Palmer Family Eye Care. In his free time, he enjoys golfing, bike riding, exercising, and spending time with his two granddaughters.
We are pleased to congratulate Dr. Dietterick on his retirement. We thank him for his many years of exceptional service to Palmer Family Eye Care and to the community. We wish Dr. Dietterick the very best as he enjoys his retirement!
Melissa, optician
Melissa joined Palmer Family Eye Care in 2003. She comes to us with 28 years of optical experience. She is very knowledgeable and up to date with the latest in lens materials and options. She is very precise in her adjustments.
Her warm and friendly personality make her an excellent fit for our practice. |
